Amazon Planning to Launch Large Brick-and-Mortar Retail locations

Several large brick-and-mortar retail locations “that will operate akin to department stores” are among e-commerce giant Amazon.com Inc.’s latest plans to help the tech company extend its reach in sales of items from top consumer brands and the company’s private-label goods—although plans are not final yet and could change. Unlike most department stores, which typically range is size of about 100,000 square feet, Amazon department stores will be around 30,000 square feet with the first locations to open in Ohio and California.
