Federal Approval Paves Way for the Long-Delayed Gateway Project to Advance

On Friday, May 28, 2021, Federal agencies approved an environmental review, paving the way for the long-delayed Gateway project to advance. The estimated $11 billion project includes a new train tunnel underneath the Hudson River; as well as crucial upgrading and repairing of the existing tunnel that connects New Jersey to Penn Station, which was damaged during Hurricane Sandy in 2012.
