Governor Cuomo Announces $400 Million Redevelopment Plan on Western Portion of Kingsboro Psychiatric Center Campus
On July 9, 2021, Governor Cuomo announced the selection of the winning proposal to redevelop 7.2 underutilized acres on the western portion of the Kingsboro Psychiatric Center Campus in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. The planned $400 million project is part of the Governor’s $1.4 billion Vital Brooklyn initiative; and will include approximately 900 units of affordable and supportive housing, senior housing, two state-of-the-art homeless shelters, as well as new community amenities. A total of 3,700 construction jobs will be created and more than 200 permanent jobs for area residents.
