NY Hero Act Signed into Law by Governor Cuomo

On Wednesday, May 5, 2021 Governor Cuomo signed into law the New York Health and Essentials Rights Act (NY HERO Act). While New York businesses are already required to abide by Governor Cuomo’s executive orders and NY Forward, which provides mandates for industry-specific guidances in response to the COVID-19 pandemic for extensive workplace health and safety protections and reopening guidelines, the NY HERO Act “sets forth mandatory standards not just for COVID-19, but for all airborne infectious diseases.”
