Rooftop Park Above Radio City Music Hall Gets LPC Green Light

Radio City Music Hall will boast a 24,000-square-foot landscaped park sometime this fall, developer Tishman Speyer securing approvals for the project from the city’s Landmarks Preservation Commission. In addition to the park, which is a component of Tishman Speyer’s efforts to “restore and invigorate Rockefeller Plaza,” a pedestrian bridge connecting the park to 1270 Avenue of the Americas will be constructed. Spreading across the building’s eight floor, the new park dubbed Radio Park will feature “dense landscaping throughout, meandering pathways, pavilions, seating, and passive recreation areas;” and will be accessible from both 50 Rockefeller Plaza and 1270 Avenue of the Americas.
