Wegman’s to Debut First Manhattan Store in Greenwich Village
In the second-half of 2023, Rochester-based Wegmans Food Market will debut its first Manhattan store under a 30-year lease. The new location will spread across roughly 82,000 square feet on the ground and lower level of 770 Broadway—the former longtime home of Astor Place Kmart which recently shuttered. Initial reports of negotiations between landlord Vornado Realty Trust and a regional grocery store surfaced in mid-July. Wegmans entered the New York City market in October 2019 with the opening their first store in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
